But remember, never compromise quality of your content for this. If the topic demands a 2000 word post, then go ahead. Your blog content is definitely more worth than a single read. Devise new ways to reuse your old content. Create e-books, podcasts, YouTube videos, newsletters, etc. with your old content by maintaining your blogging calender. The work is done, you have ideas, and you just need to present the topic with a new angle. You can also re-write your guest points from your point of view. Just simple modifications in the content and you have a brand new blog post. This is one of the quicker ways to create blog posts. This practice comes in handy when you are stuck with content ideas.

Whenever you get time, try to write to several posts in advance. Publish them later at required situations. This is required in case of risks such as when your software fails, you fall ill or you go for a vacation etc. In such cases, you would not want your blog to go on a vacation with you.
