You can never choose your ads from the high list of advertisers in Google Adwords. But you can take certain effective and useful steps which can help Google to take a wiser decision by giving you high paying ads.
i. Inject High Paying Keywords:
Injecting high paying keywords in your content, Meta tags, hyperlinks, anchor text and headings will attract more and more advertisers. Advertisers bid highly for among themselves for this keyword. The bidding price is very high as these keywords will offer these advertisers high traffic. Also these keywords need to be effectively placed in your content to make Google’s crawlers believe that your site deservers high paying ads. With this you can increase your earning per click. Find an optimum keyword density of your site by doing various tests.
ii. Have a Niche Website:
Maintain a particular niche in your website. Straying from your niche will cause you to get low paying ads. Write only relevant and related contents which cover your niche to target a narrow but effective audience.
iii. Do not make lengthy articles:
Lengthy articles dilute the relevancy of the ads. It can mislead the crawlers for wrong ads. Sometimes crawlers stick to a certain keyword. If you are getting irrelevant ads, then you should try changing Meta tags and title text.
iv. Divide your articles in Pages (or link each other):
Diving long and huge articles into pages and then link one page to another wherever possible. This way you can increase get more traffic for different pages. The relevancy of the ads is increased and this is also the best way to recycle the same traffic. Hence there are greater chances that you might get a click on your ad.

By this suggestion you can improve your ad targeting. Publishers familiar with HTML should only use this option. Number of sections can be suggested in section targeting.
vi. Block Junk Websites and Competitive Websites from showing Ads:
There are certain junk websites and your competitors who display their ads on your site. These sites steal the traffic from your site and recycle them in to their own AdSense ads. Block these websites using AdSense Competitive Ad Filter.
vii. Ads Blacklist:
Ads Blacklist is a program that will exclude all low paying AdSense sites. Input some keywords in the program which are related to your website and the program will list 200 lowest paying advertisers. Once you obtain this list, copy and paste it into your competitive ad filter in your Google AdSense account. This way you have a better chance to earn high paying ads.
