Do you know you are already delayed to upgrade your Magento platform?

Running an unsupported software is extremely risky, especially when the software that isn’t supported is such a fundamental part of your operation. If you don’t action now, you will lose the eCommerce race to your competitors.

Increased Security Risk

Your platform will become increasingly vulnerable to hacks as the security patches will not be produced anymore by Magento.

Outdated & Older Code base

Your platform will be outdated as the code will grow older and Magento will no longer support the code base.

Behind in competition

Your competitive edge will be at risk, as no new innovative features will be available to you.

Magento 2 enables your future readiness

Magento 2 utilizes the newest technologies – Nginx MySql, PHP with latest versions, Database Clustering, Full Page Caching, Performance Monitoring through New Relic, Page Builder WYSIWYG CMS, Extended Reporting through Magento Business Intelligence to take your online store to next level.

Improved Performance and Speed

One of the primary reasons why Magento decided on launching Magento 2. Magento 2 sites run 20% faster than magento 1 sites, which have helped business owners increase sales, lower the bounce rate and get improved search engine ranking. With inbuilt full page caching, magento 2 platform is able to handle 10millions views.

Instant, Two Step Checkout

Magento 2 eliminated the tedious 6 step checkout of Magento 1. Magento 2 provides customers a faster checkout experience by using previously stored payment credentials and shipping information to skip checkout steps altogether. An instance checkout experience – leading to lower abandon cart and increased sales.

Easy to Use Admin Interface

Magento 2 offers a clean, modern, responsive and easy to understand/navigate backend interface for not-so-technical business owners, to run their operation smoothly. This drastically reduces the time spent in operations: product listing, order management and makes it easy for your team to learn magento backend.

Mobile commerce a priority

Mobile is the key to commerce success in 2020. Magento has introduced Progressive Web Application (PWA) Studio in Magento 2.3, to power your store’s performance on mobile. Your site loads faster in Magento 2 with improved customer experience and easy admin navigation on smartphones.

Separate databases for load balancing

The architectural drawback of Magento 1 of having a single database to store customers, orders, products is gone for good. Magento 2 separates the database for products, customers and orders, avoiding unwanted database overload thereby affecting customer experience on frontend.

Powerful, Growing Community Support

Magento’s community is growing bigger & better with each passing day. All the extensions sold on Magento marketplace have been monitored by the team from Magento developers and have gone through a strict review and approval before appearing as available for sell.

How does the migration work? Know the steps:

Step 1: Review/Audit – We will list the number of extensions, custom features developed and review of your store data (catalog, orders, customers). We will determine which extensions/custom features are now part of magento 2 core and accordingly prepare an outline for migration job to kick off.
Step 2: Dry run: We will set up a test environment, replicate your Magento 1.x database and use this replicated Magento 1.x database as the source data for your migration, start your migration with a data migration tool, to migrate customers, catalog, orders, shipping and core configurations. It is recommended to cease all administrative activities on both Magento 1.x and Magento 2 during your migration test runs (and during the actual data migration)
Step 3: Migrate Magento 1 theme to Magento 2 and make necessary UI changes. This step involves a redesign if you have opted for.
Step 4: Configure the modules/extensions.
Step 5: Update incremental data – After migrating data, you will then have to gradually collect the data updates that have been added in the Magento 1 store (such as new orders and reviews) and go into Delta mode to transfer these updates to the Magento 2 store.
Step 6: Go live!

Myth to burst: Don’t assume Magento 2 upgrade a one click operation.

The effort equals a migration and not upgrade. Magento 2 varies in terms of database, theme and API architecture, which requires an expert magento team to handle your migration, to avoid data loss and downtime. The upgrade cost depends on the complexity of your magento 1 website – number of extensions, level of customization and your future planning. Also, the upgrade is the perfect time to enhance your store’s customer experience to boost your traffic, time on site, revenue and conversion rate. Fedobe’s expertise in customer experience design will help you achieve that.
